I think it's cosmically impossible to read this book and look at all the amazing and familiar (!!!) photos and not want to share it with at least one fellow boomer... In fact, I think it would be great to go through this eBook with at least one other person just for those "OMG! I remember that!" moments. No doubt countless readers will have countless stories about so many of the treasures found in this book...I used to watch Ira Gallen's show on Manhattan Cable when I lived in NYC -- his show, his collections, his stories and his being are priceless. I've yet to see anyone do what he does the way he does it -- and I love every minute of it. (I also follow him on Facebook -- he posts THE BEST photos and other assorted goodies; everything from vintage advertisements to fabulous vintage foodstuffs in their original packaging -- HIGHLY recommend following Ira on Facebook for the most juicy and eclectic collection of all that is fun and fascinating). Ira kept all the things you wish you did (my own 'Boomer Rosebud' as Ira asks in the book? My Beatles bobblehead dolls that I happily traded to my cousin for a Tressie doll -- whose growing hair broke after one week. Oy...).
It's no wonder that while Ira was scouting NYC locations for a film in the early 70's, that the Universe had him find his way to an antique store that was going out of business. They had lots of toys from the 1950's, and tons more cool stuff. It was so cool, that he ended up buying the place out. And in turn, it is so cool that he ended up sharing his entire collection that he's amassed over the years with the world -- especially us boomers who vividly remember every toy, comic book, tv show, lunchbox, candy (OMG, did that bring back memories!)...
Other than the fact that I wished that it came with a musical soundtrack, I highly recommend this book -- it's also THE perfect gift for any boomer you know and love! It's an outrageously fun read and a wonderful walk down memory lane. I look forward to Volume Two, Three, Four etc etc...

This is a great book, full of baby boomer memories and wonderful photographs. Really takes me back. I recommend this for any baby boomers who want to reminisce or for people who simply want to get a glimpse of a fascinating generation!
Great nostalgic book. Brought me back to my youth. Great pictures, well written.
I completely enjoyed reading this book..having lived through this era I can tell that the descriptions are genuine and very accurate for the time they represent.
If it wasn't for Ira Gallen, all of my wonderful memories of the 50's and 60's television would only be in my mind. Thanks for thinking like I do, with a fondness for early television that should never be forgotten.
If you have any fond recollections of 1960s toys, Confessions of A Baby Boomer is for you. Ira Gallen presents a wonderful time capsule of the era highlighted by hundreds of photos of the iconic toys and advertising of the decade. From six-gun heroes, to space explorers and undercover spies, all the toys at the top of every kid's wish list are here. Ira's parade of 1960s material culture is the next best thing to actually owning these treasures.
